Magpie protocol is a cross chain liquidity aggregator which aggregates bridge liquidity and DEX liquidity. It primarily uses Wormhole messaging protocol for data transfer. When a user initiates a cross chain swap, the user assets are converted into an intermediary asset which is supported by the bridge and then the assets are bridged to the destination chain, also at the same time a message containing the information that is required to swap the intermediary asset on destination is published via Wormhole. This information is used when the relayer calls swapOut on the destination chain’s contract which converts the intermediary asset to the target asset and sends them to the recipient.
